Ferry Road houses
Sir, —If senior citizens must be regarded as a liability this location seems right enough for pensioners cottages—but what of “granny flats,” or some such, as recommended by the Minister of Social Welfare (Mr King) for which a person wishing to have a relation or friend living handy (for the benefit of both) may obtain a subsidy? Such to be a tiny selfcontained unit. A group of children asked what they missed most in life settled for a granny, mainly, and mainly a “granny” is what most citizens want, maybe.— Yours, etc., CATHERINE R. DIXON. August 27, 1975.
