Unemployment
Sir, — I read with dismay the comments of Mr J. G. Russell on unemployment. It is the right of every person to be employed and at a place where they would wish to work. To suggest otherwise may be apparently sound economics but is morally indefensible. No doubt Mr Russell would speak differently if he were unemployed, but, of course, when he was hungry and shelterless, he could take comfort from the fact that he would be helping the nation’s interest. I suggest that Mr Russell needs to take a long look at his humanities and then re-examine his econ-
omics. — Yours etc., A. P. F. DE JOUX.
