Challenge to Minister
f.N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Minister of Education (Mr Amos) has been criticised for his "lack of attitude” on the question of drug use in New Zealand schools. In an open letter to Mr Amos, the president of the Canterbury University Young National Club (Mr B. D. Burgess) said that in a recent report Mr Amos had said that drug taking was not a significant problem.
“I would ask what dimensions this problem has to reach before the Labour Government considers it to be a •significant problem’.” Mr Burgess said in his letter. Any drug taking by schoolchildren must be considered a ; "significant problem,” he I said.
