Lifters bid thwarted
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND.
Unless Britain makes quick arrangements to select him, Precious McKenzie, nowf.living in Auckland, will not be competing at the world weight-lifting championships in Moscow starting on September 13. A bid to have McKenzie included in the New Zealand team for Moscow has been thwarted.
He will be lifting for Britain at the Montreal Olympics, so he cannot compete for New Zealand in Moscow next month. New Zealand will be represented in Moscow by R. Barrett. B. Marsden. P. Sue, and A. Ebert, with Mr Cameron as manager and Mr J. Cullen as a referee. They will leave on September 10.
