Noel Riordan retires
(N.Z. Press Association) TE AROHAThe popular Mataxnata rider, Noel Riordan, ended a race riding career which spanned more than 20 yean at Te Aroha. on Saturday. Riordan was best known for his association with the ehampion »tayer, Il Tempo, and he also was the regular rider of the too three-year-old Peterman. He rates Fair Fleet, which was sold to the United States, a* the best mare he ever rode. In recent Hmes he has tocreased his training activities, and although h« sold that he Mill loves tn ride, the Rule of Racing which;' prevent* a rider being an owner has influenced hi* decision to retire.
