Maoris seek help for marae
Doubts about whether the Ihutai Action Committee wanted money or land were expressed at a meeting of the Paparua Countv Council’s finance committee on Monday The group said that the Maori people of Christchurch hoped to build a marae anc’ ’he Christchurch City Counci had offered land at Humohreys Drive. They wanted similar assistance from other 'ocal bodies. “I’m not sure what means. There has been con 'roversv over the city council land,” Cr A. Y. Shuker I,said.
