TAURANGA, Aug. 26. The announcement yesterday that a national campaign would be launched against the proposed lowering of the drinking age to 18 had received an immediate response. said Mr J. A. B. Stuart-Menzies, in Tauranga , today. Mr Stuart-Menzies is an ! executive member of the League of Rights which last week-end arranged a meeting to plan a campaign to oppose the legislation. "Last night 1 had about a dozen phone calls from parents who are concerned about the possible effects of the lowering of the drinking i age." he said.
