Redundancy
Sir, — I am utterly fed up and disgusted with the word “redundancy” that is being bandied about on every job of any consequence. As applied today, it seems to mean lazy, no imagination, no inspiration, and no intention of doing one whit more than I am doing now. During the Depression in the 1930 s many men lost their jobs and a very big number branched out into other fields making a huge success of their lives. I was one of them and have complete experience. There is no hope and no future for the type that wants to ruin out country crying out redundancy. — Yours, etc., JOHN CITIZEN. August 23, 1975.
