Rescuers reach cliff in boat
Z Prr.tt Association i HAMILTON. A 1-5-year-old boy who fell down a 30ft cliff was rescued early on Monday by a cliff-rescue squad which landed from a boat. The boy, Kenneth Finlay.: of Tairua. was admitted to Thames Hospital almost 12 hours after the accident: occurred. He had been goat shooting with two friends. volunteers from Whitianga and Tairua reached him about 11 p.m. 350 FT CLIMB Constable D. Wall, of Whitianga. said that a boat took the rescuers to a nearby] beach, and they climbed 350 ft: through native bush. The squad had to negoti-! ate a 400-ft cliff to reach the: bov near the beach.
