Mr Derrett sues
The owner of Horse Haven, Mr Silas Derrett, is suing the Christchurch Press Company, Ltd. for defamation. The sum of $30,000 has been claimed against the defendant. On Julv 12, 24, and 25, “The Press” printed three articles on Horse Haven, all of which have been said by the plaintiff to have contained false allegations against him. The c’aim has been lodged in the Supreme Court.
