LOOP CLAIM APPEAL
r.V.Z. Press Association/ HAMILTON, August 8. j A Hamilton woman who was refused accident compensation for a “wandering” intra-uterine device has been granted an appeal hearing. The chairman of the Accident Compensation Commission (Mr K. L. Sandford) has agreed to meet the woman in Hamilton for the hearing. The woman, a solo parent, claimed operation costs and loss of income from the commission after an abdominal operation to remove a Lippe s loop. The commission ruled that , the operation did not qualify ' for compensatidn because there had been “no ; identifiable mishap or event which resulted in the pass-i age of the device to its final I resting place."
