Daily volume
A total of 149,150 shares was sold on the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, 140.850 less than on Thursday. Industrial issues totalled 138.850 (Thursday 285,000) and mining/oil 10,300 (Thursday 5000). A total of 98 New Zealand issues was traded. Share exchange Separate meetings of preference and ordinary shareholders of the New Zealand Farmers’ Fertiliser Company, Ltd, will be held on September 5 to consider the exchange of one ordinary share for each preference share, subject to the approval of the Supreme Court. The last preference dividend will be paid on September 5 for the year to May 31. Ordinary shares issued in exchange will rank equally with existing ordinary shares. Court gives consent Carter Holt Holdings, Ltd, has received the consent of the Supreme Court for dividend distributions from the share premium account. Dividend notices will be mailed about August 11.
