N.Z. rowers ill
(NZ.PA. Staff Crspit) LONDON. Deprived of their planned North American warmup through lack of money, the New Zealand rowing team'* preparation* for the world championship* at Nottingham have now been hit by sickness. A number of the 18 oarsmen in the party were affected by the long flight to London from New Zealand, and two picked up a virus complaint that has out them out of action since they arrived on Monday. “Our training programme has been severely restricted,” the! team manager. Mr W. S. Wrathall. said. ‘T think «•» will have to forget plans to race at Henley this week-end.” Mr Wrathal! said that I. M. Boyrio, the bow of the eight, and J. M. Alexander, No. 4 of the squad scullers, were showing signs of recovering from their virus nineties but were still sick.
