Decision on port soon
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. A decision on whether the Mount Davy coal will be exported from the West Coast or Canterbury will probably be made next month. Mr D. O. Walker, the chairman of West Coast Resources, Ltd, the consortium which will mine the coal, will go to Japan next month for discussions with the steel companies in the venture. He said he would know after the negotiations whether the coal would be exported from Greymouth, or be railed to a Canterbury port.
