Twizel bar extensions
t Parhutiientary Rrp rtrr WELLINGTON Public bar facilities at the Twizel Inn will be extended [by Ho<» square feet. I The Minister of Tourism (Mrs Tirikatene - Sullivan) gave this reassurance to Mr R. L. G. Talbot (Nat.. South Canterbury), who had said that the inadequacy of the bar facilities had provoked a “situation which is creating considerable discontent in the town.”
The Minister said the Tourist Hotel Corporation board had also given approval for improvement of the beer systems and general refurbish ing.
“Sketch plans have been approved in principle by the Licensing Control Commission and working drawings will be ready within a
month," she said. The pro ject is being treated as urg ent. Construction should be gin by the end of July, giv ing three months to com plete the extensions.”
