'Penthouse' restriction

"Penthouse." an American magazine, will remain an indecent publication when in the hands of anv New Zealander aged under 18, says the Indecent Publications Tribunal. The tribunal ruled on six editions of “Penthouse," after an application from the Customs Department to have the magazine ruled “unconditionallv indecent.” The issues do not constitute a deterioration in the general balance of the America edition of the magazine. which it had initially ruled unon in 19"4 said the tribunal. That ruling also restricted the magazine as indecent when in the hands of ne'-snns under 18. The tribunal noted that the six issues were all of the American edition, which gen“rallv had a more substantial Fterarv content than the English edition.
