31-9 win to Wellington

An interception and a 65yard run for a try by the Wellington wing, Ray Rennell, blunted Wairarapa-Bush’s hopes of making a come-back in the Rugby match at Masterton yesterday. The combined side pulled up to 9-16 in the third quarter before a penalty by Brian ; Cederwall for Wellington was immediately followed by Rennell’s interception, in the sixty-third minute. Wellington went on to win by 31-9. For Wellington, Grant Batty, Derek Campbell, John Wooton, Rennell. and lan Stevens scored tries, and Cederwall kicked four conversions and a penalty.
