Softballers’ U.S. trip

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The Wellington softball pitcher, Jim Fowler, is to play in the United States this year. He is to spend five months with a club in Seattle, and leaves this month. The offer for the Island Bay player’s services came only last week-end and was directed through an Auckland softball administrator, Mr J. Shanks.

Mr Shanks has already arranged for two young Auckland pitchers to gain experience in the United States. Graham Arnold went to Arizona last season and this year his fellow Auckland representative, Peter Cameron, will join him.
