Learning all about travel
Twenty first-year and second-year employees of travel firms are on a four-day training course in Christchurch, aimed at giving them a basic grounding in all aspects of the industry.
This is the second such pilot course — the first yvas held recently' in Auckland — arranged by the New Zealand Institute of Travel prior to! the establishment of its train-; ing scheme. ‘ Most of those on the course come from Christchurch, although Ashburton and Invercargill are represented. They have also visited the; reservation sections of Na-; tional Airways and Air New Zealand in Christchurch and gone into travel offices as potential travellers asking awkward questions in order to see how their problems are dealt yvith by the staff.
