Wells) I announced the grant from I the Ministry of Recreation and Sport. i 1 The grant is for the re- , cruitment of a national coach r’on a full-time basis for four „|or five months a year The association has ; already advertised widely ; and applications for the position have been received from |, coaches in the United King • dom and the United States The association is mapping out a possible programme for the coach No date has been set for the closing of the application Mr Wells has had discussions with representatives of Rothmans, who subsidise 1 much of the tennis coaching ,jin New Zealand. 1 It appeared that Rothmans would continue to be involved in tennis, he said, but •negotiations were still coni tinuing.
