NOON FORECAST
Situation: An anticyclone with centres west and east of the North Island is moving east. A cold front in the south Tasman Sea is expected to cross the South Island today. Forecast: Central Marlborough: Fresh north-west winds; fine and warm, but high cloud increasing during the day. [Marlborough Sounds: North- [ erlies. strong from this morning; becoming cloudy: 1 moderate temperatures. (Nelson: Moderate northerlies;* mainly fine, but increasing: cloud: rain possible in the! western ranges later.
Kaikoura coast: Fresh northeasterlies; fine and mild apart from increasing high cloud. Canterbury: Moderate northeasterlies about the coast, but north-westerlies, strong at times, inalnd; rain in the Southern Alps; mainly fair, but considerable high cloud; warm. Buller and Westland: Moderate northerlies predominating; cloud increasing; rain in South Westland this morning, and spreading north during the day; mod 1 erate temperatures. JOutlook: Showers in Buller i and Westland, but fair elsewhere.
