Richardson Mould like Presidency

Elliot Richardson, a leading light in the Watergate scandal and the new United States Ambassador to Britain, wants to be President ot the United States, the "Sunday Times" magazine said. Mr Richardson, aged 54. was quoted by an interviewer. William Shawcross, as seeing "no immediate prospects" of moving on from the Ambassadorship, but quotes him on the Presidency: “I suppose it’s like climbing Mount Everest: if you're a mountaineer, it's the most demanding. I've had experience in various forms of public service for so long I’m sure I would feel this would more than any other possible rule demand even ounce of experience and ability, energy and stamina that I could give it.” The magazine said that Mr Richardson was “one of the most popular and respected politicians in America today” and added that he “wants to be President."
