Many staff and students of the I niversity of Canterbury appeal to he getting car parking "on the cheap” by using spaces in street' around the university. Both Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2.30 pm. and on Tuesday all the car parks except for the one next to the Student Union building were only 60 per cent full while all street' adjacent to the

One ol these parks, next to the boilerhouse off Ham Road, had spaces available y ester day for 100 cars. A further problem which faces motorists using Ham Road is the tact that Iniversity Drive and the entrance to ihe Student Union car park do not have any stop sign- and a number of limes in the last three weeks cars have narrowly avoided collisions with vehicles coming out of these area'.
