New Zealand will host the; three-week Pall Mall world . amateur billiards champion-1 ships this year in the Auck-jj land town hall from Septem- I ber 8 to September 28. | The leading players from 14 nations will be invited. ; Two New Zealanders will; almost certainly contest the J championships, but their 1 names will not be known: until elimination matches 1 have been played during the; winter. j The world champion, Mo-i hammed Lafir (Sri Lanka) is; expected to defend his title,; but the names of other over-; seas competitors are not yet; known. As the holder of the I world title, Sri Lanka, like I New Zealand, would be en- 1 titled to enter a two-man I team. Other countries will I be limited to one representa-;l five. j
