Buoyant half for F. Waimak
Sales of Farrier-Waimak, Ltd, for the six months to ■December 31 were 19 per cent higher than those of the same period last year, the chairman (Mr C. W. Evans) says in the halfyearly report.
The profit was more than maintained, mainly because the contract division was fully committed for the whole period —which is unusual for the winter months, Mr Evans says.
“Although the slackening in demand has been only slight so far, uncertainties in the building industry and the lack of action regarding National Roads Board funds indicate that less buoyant conditions will prevail in the short term.
“However, provided the level of activity ’ does not fall below that now anticipated, your directors can see no reason why last year’s dividend rate of 11 per cent should not be maintained on the increased capital. “Shareholders who may not have seen the announcement in “The Press,” are advised that the one-for-two cash issue was fully subscribed without, being underwritten,” Mr Evans says.
