(N 7. Press Assn—Copyright) | SYDNEY. I Bradmill Industries, Ltd,! has joined the list of textile manufacturers which have reported substantially lower earnings for the six months to December 31. The operating profit of the major cotton goods manufacturer fell 62.6 per cent' to $846,651, and the interim dividend rate has been cut from 6,25 per cent to 4 per] cent. At the annual meeting in November the chairman (Sir Robert Webster) said that profits since June 30 were 50 per cent lower than last year despite almost steady sales. He told shareholders that] the company had investigated the feasibility of closing dowm some of its] Australian mills and setting- | up overseas.
