MARKET ACTIVE AND FIRM
Trading was again active on the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, volume rising slightly to 236,000 shares. Although rises outnumbered falls almost two to one, falls by shares of companies with a large capitalisation — such as N.Z. Forest Products, New’ Zealand Breweries, and Watties — caused the N.Z.U. index to decline a little. Otherwise leaders were firm on balance.
