Consumers’ rights
The Consumers’ Rights Campaign will begin next week. The campaign is aimed at helping people who have had consumer problems, and preventing problems from occurring. These include what to do when buying faulty or damaged goods, where to complain, being overcharged for goods or jobs done, what to do with the “uninvited salesmen,” and difficulties over hire-purchase agreements. During the week of the campaign, a consumer rights information centre will be set up in a caravan. This will be stationed at the Hornby [Shopping Centre on Monday, the Barrington Mall on Tuesday, Cathedral Square on [Wednesday, Riccarton Mall lon Thursday, the Bishopdale [Shopping Centre on Friday, land the New Brighton Shopping Centre on Saturday. The campaign will be opened in Christchurch by the 'Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer) on Tuesday. I
