New secretary
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 9. For the first time in its history, and aptly enough in International Women’s Year, the New Zealand Homeservicemen’s Association has appointed a woman, Mrs W. J. Baldwin, of Wellington, as its national secretary 1 . Mrs Baldwin, a free-lance journalist, is editor of the R.S.A. monthly publication, “Review.”
Gold medal.—Staff Nurse Mary Bottem, of Auckland Hospital, will be awarded an Auckland Hospital Board gold medal at the nursing graduation ceremony. She is the second nurse in 13 years to win the award, which is for excellence in both theoretical and clinical work throughout training.—(P.A.).
