Walk-out in Rarotonga
(Special Crspdt. N'Z.P.A.) RAROTONGA. The Cook Islands Opposition Leader (Dr Tom Davis)! led a walkout from the Legislative Assembly on Friday after a flare-up during debate. Dr Davis refused to apologise to the Deputy Speaker during a point of order on aj misdemeanour in the House.' and as a consequence was suspended from the chamber : for 24 hours. On leaving the chamber,; Dr Davis called his party; followers, and all the Opposition members followed him.' The Assembly adjourned until tomorrow. Yesterday Dr Davis was called upon to apologise for a statement he made in the ■ House, and he walked out. followed by his deputy and i three others and a while later by the rest of the ! Opposition. Patterns appear to be evolving of deliberate and continuing delaying tactics on all matters by the Opposition. I
