Lindsay award
A national appeal for funds to establish an award scheme in memory of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra concert-master, Alex Lindsay, will start with a special concert in the Wellington Town Hall on March 23.
The symphony orchestra’s: 'players have given their ser-: vices for the concert, which i !will be conducted by John! Hopkins. The soloist will be i Janetta McStay. The players I will also give their fees for a forthcoming record session -to the memorial fund. The memorial award will be to help the studies of young New Zealand musicians. It will be awarded by representatives of the orchestra.
