Power station opposed
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright? WYHL (West Germany), February 25.
About 400 demonstrators, fearing that pollution will damage nearby vineyards, have re-occupied the site of a planned nuclear power station in the tiny West German village of Wyhl, near Freiburg.
They erected tents on the site yesterday, a few hours after the police had cleared it of 10,000 angry citizens. About 20 policemen were injured in the confrontation. The Government of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg is holding an emergency meeting in Stuttgart today, to consider action against future demonstrators, whose attempts to stop construction of the station began on Tuesday of last week. They have occupied the land several times since then, and each time thev have been cleared by the police.
The site is near the Kaiserstuhl vineyards, in the French German border area.
