More speed detectors
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, Feb. 25.
The Ministry of Transport will import 25 more TR6 microwave speed detectors from the United States, the Minister of Transport (Sir Basil Arthur) has said. The new units will augment the TR6 units that went into operation in New Zealand for the first time late last year, he said in a statement, and are expected to come into operation in April, after checking and certification for accuracy. The TR6 is much smaller than the traditional microwave units, and much more flexible in operation. “This equipment has already proved to be extremely effective,” Sir Basil said.
