MR J. F. ENRIGHT Mr John Francis (Frank): Enright, who died recently,: belonged to a small group of! public servants who went! far beyond the bounds of! duty to help people become established on farms. Mr Enright, who joined; the State Advances Corpor-i ation in Christchurch as ap farm appraiser in 1945, worked in the district thereafter except for short periods away on relieving duty. His district includec! Banks Peninsula, Ellesmere,! Kirwee, Darfield, Homebush,' Coalgate, and Hororata. i
He helped with the settle-i ment of returned servicemen: after World War 11, and more recently with civilians.; iHe was also involved with development loans for farmimprovement and farm amalgamation proposals. Born at Winchester, in South Canterbury, Mr ! Enright attended the Marist Brothers’ School in Christchurch and also Banks College. After leaving school, hen 1 worked on farms in Mid-1 i Canterbury and for a time ;engaged in contract header-' harvesting. During World) War II he served with the: Royal New Zealand Air! ,Force in New Zealand on: ground duties. Mr Enright is survived by; his wife and a son.
