EIGHT PAIRS SURVIVE
A. Whiting (Woolston W.M.C.), who enjoyed much success at the recent national women’s bowls tournament in Christchurch, was one of the eight skips remaining (40 entered), after the first three rounds yesterday in the Christchurch Bowling Centre women’s champion-01-champions pairs.
The other seven skips to resume on the Heathcote green this morning are: A. McDonald (Burwood), V. Shaw (Barrington), G. Broune (Linwood), E. Thompson (Halswell),. K. Bradbury (Cashmere), F. Welsh (Heathcote), N. Packman (Edgeware).
