The Ministry of Trans-: port yesterday began a nine-week campaign to < try and deal with excessively noisy vehicles. In Christchurch Mr A.! noise has been carried out, iMr Goldsmith said, SEAT BELTS i In the two weeks which I ended on February 16, the [Transport Department in [Christchurch carried out a ■check on the wearing of seat i belts and 99 offence notices were issued.
