Dr O. H. Hay lock, of I ißulis, has recently been 11 [elected as chairman of l ’ !Canterbury Timber Products,! ! Limited. He succeeds Mr D ' [D. A. Reese, who has resigned las chairman because of; I pressure of other com-; [mitments and interests, but,! ! who remains as a director of [the company. I Dr Haylock is also chair-, man of M.S.D.-Spiers. Ltd.
Mr R. E. Walters, the C.B.A. manager for New Zealand for the last three years, has been appointi as state manager for Nev South Wales, based in Sydney. He will take up his post in April. During his term as manager for New Zealand, Mr Walters was chairman of f'a New Zealand Bankers’ Assopresent a director of Marac Holdings, Ltd.
| Mr Walters will be succeeded by Mr W. J. E. I. Gough, who is at present I assistant state manager for iNew South Wales. Mr M. R. Buckett, managing director of Odlins, Ltd, has announced his retire- ; ment, to become effective from March 31. i Mr Buckett will retire after 48 years of service (in-
ti eluding 36 years as an |j executive) to the forest inli dustry and business comt munity. He began as a youth I with the State Forest Ser[jvice at Hanmcr Springs, II attended the original School: hof Forestry at Canterbury I College, and embark- I on a 'career which was to lead up Ij to his ultimate promotion to jfirst general manager and; director of N.Z. Forest Prod-i ||acts, Ltd. He resigned this] post in 1959 after 20 years’ 'of service with that comI pany, during which period I the Penrose and Kinleith in'dustries were established.
Mr Buckett joined Odlins in 1960 as general manager and a director, and became (managing dir-or of this company in 1968. He will continue as a director of the company and as a member of the directors’ finance committee.
Mr Buckett is also deputy chairman of Motor Holdings, Ltd, and a member of the Forestry Development Council. He intends to continue his business interests..
Mr J. Miller has been appointed the technical executive officer of the New Zealand Freezing Companies Association. Mr Miller, who is 35, has B.E. (Elect) andi B.Sc. degrees from the University of Canterbury. He is a registered engineer and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers.
