Prices rise in active trading Trading on American stock exchanges was active [last week, with higher prices on most days. The Dow Jones industrial average closed on Friday at 749.77) — an advance of more than! 15 points on the week. Investors were encouraged by optimistic interpretation of the week’s economic statistics, the further decline in bank rates, a price cut by General Motors, and moves by the Federal Reserve Board to ease credit.
