Stock car racing
Two four-car teams will contest the first inter provincial stock car teams race at Woodford Glen, near Kaiapoi, tonight. Four Nelson stock cars (the “Nelson Knockers”) will be out to push the “Woodford Glen Wreckers” off the track and claim the McCall Trophy. The Nelson cars will be led by Rex Wells, in his Corvette-engined VW. Wells is in top form and has consistently beaten the top Wellington stock car drivers this season.
