The applicant should possess a sound working knowledge of mechanical engineering practice and application, be conversant with the supervision of coal-fired Babcock and Wilcox steam boilers and auxiliary equipment, and should have the necessary qualifications and personality to take charge. A working knowledge of electrical bulk power distribution, transformers, switchgear and sub-station equipment would assist. Steam supplied to four associated companies who each have a chief engineer responsible for the efficient running of their factory. Age limits 30-40 years are desirable, but any outstanding applicants with a B.E. degree are assured of careful consideration. The Chief Group Engineer is responsible to ensure continuity of production from al!' companies and to advise and provide engineering assistance when it is required by any company in the group. UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO SYSTEMS ANALYST/SENIOR SYSTEMS ANALYST REGISTRY APPLICATIONS THE UNIVERSITY wishes to appoint an experienced Systems Analyst to a new position in the Registry Applicants should be competent in both COBOL and FORTRAN programming languages and be capable of demonstrating strong interests in systems design work. The appointee shall be responsible to the Registrar for the introduction of selected management information systems required by the Registry. At present the University processes some student records by computer and plans the early introduction of a computer based payroll system. Resources for the development and implementation of information systems are administered by the Director of Computer Services. The appointee will have standing in the University Computer Centre. The initial salary is expected to be in the range $8666 to $11,628 p.a.
