(N.Z P.A Reuter—Copyright) I LAHORE. Pakistan, helped by an invaluable innings of 123 by Mushtaq Mohammad, has set the West Indies a formidable victory target of 359 runs in the first test. The West Indies had wiped off 15 runs without loss in three overs before the close, leaving another six hours to make the remaining 344 runs needed to win the first test between the two countries for 16 years. Intikhab Alam declared Pakistan’s second innings at 373 for seven, the home side yesterdav scoring 220 runs in 335 minutes for the fall of I three wickets. The slow scoring rate! might cost Pakistan the! match, because Intikhab! might not have allowed his* bowlers long enough to get! the West Indies out on a pitch lacking anv life. The stocky all-rounder,; Mushtaq took 358 minutes to reach his century—the seventh in a 16-year career spanning 37 test matches. Even then he did not attempt to force runs and batted for 466 minutes, hitting 12 fours.
