A change in sales reporting procedures was agreed on at The annua] conference of the (Stock Exchange Association 'of New Zealand. Subject to gazetting of the .necessary rule change, all i sales of shares are to be reI ported, instead of sales between exchange members only.
“This full reporting will provide, for the first time, an accurate indication of turnover by members of the New Zealand stock exchanges, and it will be accompanied by improved statistical services from the Stock Exchange Association based on daily and individual stock turnovers.” the president (Mr D. G. Whyte) said. Changes to membership rules, confirming the trend to broking as a full-time profession, and setting minimum experience and examination qualifications for membership of exchanges from 1979. were approved by the conference.
The association will hold examinations in sharebroking practice, to be passed by all candidates for membership of exchanges.
The executive of the association for the year is: president Mr D. G. Whyte; vjceipresident: Mr R. J. Riley; ‘executive: Messrs J. B. Hinidin (Christchurch), W. R. Hocking (Wellington). G. D. McCrostie (Invercargill), H. IM. McElroy (Auckland), and |H. R. Wilson (Dunedin).
