Children’s plays
A Playbox Theatre production for children is in its last five days this week in the Nelson Street Hall, Riccarton. The production, arranged by the Riccarton Players, comprises well-known fairy stories, acted out in simple language, and fun with clowns and songs, all designed for maximum audience participation. The stories include “Hansel and Gretel,” “The Sleeping Beauty,” “The Gingerbread Man,” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” The production will start at 6.30 each night until Friday, and will close on Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee.
More Playbox productions are planned by the group for
May and August. For adults, the Riccarton Players will offer a three-act play in April, and one-act play seasons later in the year. More productions may be in the pipeline, but no decisions have been made yet.
