Islanders in election
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan 27. The Cook Islands Democratic Party will put up three candidates in the New Zealand General Election this year. The party decided at a conference in Wellington at the week-end to put up the candidates to “show the present New Zealand Government that we are a body willing to fight for its New Zealand citizenship,” said the party’s secretary, Miss Mokoroa Rio Love.
She said that the party, which has 1400 members, would pick its candidates and electorates in July.
