Bulloch had earlier beatqn Murfitt to win one section, bp’ Murfitt came through unscathed In the other. In another early game lie overcame a tough challenje from Charles Jones (Palmerston North), 26-19. Two Nelson players fought otrt the level singles title before Miss M. Graham beat th* 13-year-old Craig John*tan 26-22. Results:— Open championships.—Mr* C. McHerron (West Coast) beat GShaw (Dunedin), 26-17; R M»tfitt (Christchurch) beat Mis* F Grigg (Christchurch), 26-18; C. Jones ‘Palmerston North' beat I Mrs McHerron, 26-23; Murfitt beat W. Bulloch 'Dunedin). 26-6. D Bulloch (Dunedin: beat Murfitt. 26-17; Murfitt beat Jones. 26-19. Final: Murfitt beat D. Bulloch, 26-12 Level singles.—C.
