SPEEDCAR TITLE
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Mel Kenyon (United States) last night won the world 30-lap speedcar championship at Western Springs Stadium and created a new race record of 9min Isec. The time was Bsec better than Trevor Morris (New Zealand) with a time of 9min 9sec established in the 197172 season. The South Australian champion, Barry Pinchbeck, was second last night and the American, A. J. Foyt, was third.
