More cases of dysentery
(N.Z. Press Association)
WHANGAREI, Jan. 12.
Two more positive cases of dysentery, and several more suspected cases, were reported from Kaitaia yesterday. The Health Department’s senior inspector (Mr G. R. Galbraith) said laboratory tests on two persons who had been in contact with a previous case had shown positive results, even though the people did not have any symptoms.
The suspected cases also involved contact with the disease, three of them being visitors — two Australians and a person from Wellington.
Mr Galbraith said all the new cases were under surveillance by their doctors, but none required hospital treatment.
