Boy cyclist injured
John Christopher Maher, aged eight, of 11 Pamela Street, suffered serious head injuries when his bicycle and a car collided at the corner of Buckleys Road and Dacre Street, Avonside, about 3.45 p.m. on Saturday.
He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital, where he was still seriously ill last evening but showing slight improvement.
Wendy Climo, aged 18, of 28 Tomrich Street, suffered head injuries when she fell from a motor-cycle in Avonside Drive about 9.30 p.m. on Saturday.
Her condition in Christchurch Hospital last evening was fairly comfortable.
