Heaphy Track
Sir, — I take exception to several recent articles which I interpret as subtle deterrents to many thinking of walking the Heaphy Track. Authorities seem afraid that the increasing numbers taking the walk add to their responsibilities. If so, they should organise themselves to make this rewarding walk as “risk” free as possible. We, the people, are as entitled to this as others to their preferred forms of interest and relaxation. — Yours etc.,
P. NEWELL. December 7, 1974.
