Newquist (United States) led in the third round of the 144-hole competition in the Professional Golf Association’s qualifying school for approved tournament players. Newquist had 67 to go with earlier rounds of 70, 74, and P. Oosterhuis (Britain) had a 72 to bring his three-day total to an even-par 216. Oosterhuis had earlier rounds of 72, 72 and is tied for ninth place. A. Tapie had a 68 to go with earlier rounds of 72 and 72 and moved into second place. Eighteen players will ultimately receive their playing credentials for the 1975 P.G.A. tour. The players have one more round at the Silverado Country Club before moving to the Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs, California.
